Product Introduction of Polypropylene (PP-R) Pipes for Hot and Cold Water

PP-R pipes and fittings are based on random copolymerized polypropylene as the main raw material and are produced in accordance with GB / T18742. Polypropylene can be divided into PP-H (homopolymer polypropylene), PP-B (block copolymer polypropylene), and PP-R (random copolymer polypropylene). Double wall corrugated pipe machine plays an important role in pipe production. PP-R is the material of choice for polypropylene pipes for hot and cold water due to its long-term resistance to hydrostatic pressure, long-term heat-resistant oxygen aging and processing and molding.

What is a PP-R tube?     

PP-R pipe is also called three-type polypropylene pipe. It adopts random copolymer polypropylene to be extruded into pipe, and injection-molded into pipe. It is a new type of plastic pipe product developed and applied in Europe in the early 1990s. PP-R appeared in the late 80′s, using gas phase copolymerization process to make about 5% PE in PP molecular chain randomly and uniformly polymerized (random copolymerization) to become a new generation of pipeline materials. It has good impact resistance and long-term creep performance.
 
What are the characteristics of PP-R pipes? PP-R pipe has the following main features:
1.non-toxic and hygienic. The raw material molecules of PP-R are only carbon and hydrogen. There are no harmful and toxic elements. They are sanitary and reliable. They are not only used in hot and cold-water pipes, but also used in pure drinking water systems.  
2.Heat preservation and energy saving. The thermal conductivity of PP-R pipe is 0.21w / mk, which is only 1/200 of that of steel pipe. 
3.good heat resistance. The vicat softening point of PP-R tube is 131.5 ° C. The maximum working temperature can reach 95 ° C, which can meet the requirements of hot water systems in building water supply and drainage specifications.
4.Long service life. The working life of PP-R pipe can reach more than 50 years under the working temperature of 70 ℃ and working pressure (P.N) 1.OMPa; the service life of normal temperature (20 ℃) ​​can reach more than 100 years. 
5.Easy installation and reliable connection. PP-R has good welding performance. Pipes and fittings can be connected by hot-melt and electric welding, which is easy to install and reliable in joints. The strength of the connected parts is greater than the strength of the pipe itself. 
6.Materials can be recycled. PP-R waste is cleaned and crushed and recycled for pipe and pipe production. The amount of recycled materials does not exceed 10% of the total amount, which does not affect product quality.
